Living with Pulmonary Fibrosis?

Pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive lung condition in which scar tissue builds up in the lungs over time, making it harder to breathe. There are two closely related forms: idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), where the cause is unknown, and progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF), where scarring develops as part of another lung condition that keeps getting worse despite treatment. Both can cause shortness of breath, a dry cough, and fatigue — and both affect quality of life in meaningful ways.

While some medications can help slow the progression of pulmonary fibrosis, they don't stop it entirely, and they don't work for everyone. Researchers are actively looking for better options.

An upcoming clinical research study, which is currently in the planning stages, aims to evaluate an investigational medication taken once daily. The research is designed to see whether it can help slow the decline in lung function in people living with IPF or PPF.
